Feedback form design

There are different methods of obtaining feedback. You can use paper forms handed out to the learners, or utilise a computerised approach.

Suitability for inclusion on feedback questionnaires.

Look at the following feedback questions and judge their suitability for inclusion on feedback questionnaires.

Q1. How much did you enjoy the course?

Q2. Should the training course be longer or shorter?

Q3. Are there any additional topics which you would have liked to see included in the training session?

Q4. Which part of the course did you find most useful?

Q1. This is a leading question. Using a positive phrase like "How much did you enjoy" prompts a positive response (although it is still possible for a learner to answer "Not at all.")

Q2. This question suggests that the learner must choose one of two options, longer or shorter. It discourages learners from saying that the course was just the right length.

Q3. A good question which encourages an extended response from the learner. You would be likely to gain useful information from the replies.

Q4. A reasonable question but better feedback would be gained by making it more specific eg: Which part of the course did you find most useful? (please tick one topic only)
