Using WHOIS

It is often possible to find the owner/publisher of a website by doing a WHOIS search on the domain name. An easy route to this can be found as a facility on many website providers sites eg: http://www.networksolutions.com/en_US/whois/index.jhtml

You can enter the US domain name eg: un.org will yield the United Nations Organisation.

Any site with a similar name attempting to fool users into thinking it is the UNO can be checked out in this way.
