Combined catalogues
Some websites combine catalogues of collections with a common theme. The Scottish CAIRNS (Co-operative Information Retrieval Network for Scotland) service is a good example of this. http://cairns.lib.strath.ac.uk/CAIRNSService/ZCatSrch.cfm
CAIRNS uses catalogues from different types of libraries as well as public ones. It includes SCONE - the Scottish Collections Network, covering collections of all kinds held in libraries, museums, and archives in Scotland, as well as collections about Scottish topics held elsewhere, and searchable by keyword, geographical area, organisation name and several other ways.
