You can find a number of thematic lists from different sources online.

Essex's excellent site has a Quick Reads section for emergent readers. It allows readers to submit their own suggestions and reviews. The site also allows searching for other special needs.

Use the Advanced Search facility on "Ask Chris" to make a list of crime novels which could be suggested to a visually impaired client who must have the material in either large print or audio format.





Bi-lingual Welsh reader development website, developed as part of the Estyn Allan reader development project, and contains books in broad themes.



The Vital Link promotes reading for pleasure to emergent readers, adult basic skills students and new learners, and contains books in broad themes. It is run by The Reading Agency in partnership with the National Literacy Trust and the National Reading Campaign. Its 1st choice selection features titles from mainstream fiction and non-fiction stock that will appeal to emergent readers.
