More reader development initiatives
Have a look at the following reader development initiatives:
| ImaginAsian | www.imaginasian.info |
ImaginAsian was an Asian language material reader development project from 2002, Leicester City, Brent, Harrow and Hillingdon Libraries still have the website for this project online. Whilst the site is no longer being updated there are some excellent titles by Asian writers in Gujarati, Urdu, Punjabi and English and it is a good example of what can be achieved co-operatively.
| The Vital Link | www.literacytrust.org.uk/vitallink |
The Vital Link promotes reading for pleasure to emergent readers, adult basic skills students and new learners. It is run by The Reading Agency in partnership with the National Literacy Trust and the National Reading Campaign. The site gives details of current promotions as well as much other useful information.
