Factors which contribute to effective interaction

We think the most important factors are:

  • using language which is appropriate to the client
  • asking appropriate questions
  • encouraging feedback from the client
  • demonstrating appropriate body language designed to set the client at ease
  • choosing a location for the interview which is comfortable and where you will not be distracted or interrupted
  • making notes of the main points raised by the client
  • taking time so that the client is encouraged to talk and does not feel rushed.
